Long Island: Where to Walk Then Warm Up With Coffee | Howard Hanna Coach Realtors

There's nothing quite like the crisp coastal air of fall on Long Island. With beautiful beaches, quiet parks, and historic towns, there are many places to explore while getting your steps in. Our REALTORS® love taking a brisk walk, then warming up with a cup of coffee at a cozy local cafe. We pulled together a list of great places to walk, along with nearby coffee shops, to help you make the most of your fall weekends.

Where To Walk and Grab A Coffee Around Long Island, NY

Long Beach Boardwalk - Long Beach, NY

Boardwalk, Long Beach, NY 11561

While summer might feel like a distant memory, you can still enjoy views of the beach and ocean by taking a stroll along the iconic Long Beach Boardwalk. It's 2.2 miles from one end to the other and offers plenty to see. While some businesses may close for the season, some shops remain open. There are plenty of photo ops along the boardwalk as well.

d'eCaffe - Long Beach, NY

151 E. Park Ave., Long Beach, NY 11561

After you walk around Long Beach, check out this charming coffee shop around the corner. D'eCaffe is a great place to warm up on a cool day with:

  • Fresh coffee
  • Italian-influenced pastries
  • Delicious sandwiches

With comfortable seating and a huge display case filled with sweet treats, it's one of our favorite spots for a weekend brunch.

Welwyn Preserve County Park Loop - Glen Cove, NY

100 Crescent Beach Road, Glen Cove, NY 11542

Hop on this flat two-mile loop trail and enjoy a beautiful scenic walk through the forest, along a creek, and by Pratts Beach. A walk around Welwyn Preserve County Park Loop takes 30 to 60 minutes, and it's a great hike for any skill level. The park also offers stunning views of the area's fall foliage, and you're likely to see birds and wildlife along the way.

Southdown Coffee - Glen Cove, NY

149 Glen St., Glen Cove, NY 11542

Just a couple miles from Welwyn Preserve is one of Long Island's best coffee shops. Southdown Coffee has a lot to offer for even the biggest coffee enthusiasts. It's the perfect place to stop after a long hike outdoors, with offerings such as:

  • A wide range of blends
  • Espresso Drinks
  • Breakfast entrees

Sands Point Preserve - Sands Point, NY

127 Middle Neck Road, Sands Point, NY 11050

The trails around Sands Point Preserve offer opportunities for exercise and a chance to immerse yourself in history. This 216-acre Great Gatsby-era mansion is a beautiful historic building surrounded by gardens and forest. The property was once home to Daniel Guggenheim and is now open for tours.

Fora - Port Washington, NY

3 Manorhaven Blvd, Port Washington, NY 11050

One of the best cafes in Port Washington, Fora is an all-day cafe serving fresh meals and great coffee. With healthy food and a comfortable, inviting interior, this is a popular spot on a cool fall day.
